Indivisible Waldo County is hosting a public gathering in solidarity with the nation No Kings day on Saturday, October 18th! We will stand in support for Democracy, Civil Rights, and Free Speech. We have obtained a permit from the city for our event at Steamboat Landing Park in Belfast from 2-5 PM. We expect this to be an opportunity for attendees to connect with local activist organizations, hear from local leaders and candidates, and find opportunities to engage with our community. We hope to have a program of speakers between 2:30 and 3:30 PM, which leaves ample time for visiting the tabling organizations.

The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
