This is a Youth blended Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training course for adults supporting youth.The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews
typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help
young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include
anxiety, depression, substance use, and disorders in which psychosis may occur,
disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD), and eating disorders.
This training will take place on Thursday, March 5th, from 9:00-3:00 PM at the Decatur County Health Department located at 315 S Ireland St, Greensburg, IN 47240
This training includes a discussion of suicide, which may be difficult for some. If you or someone close to you has recently experienced suicidal thoughts or behaviors, please consider whether attending is right for you at this time. It’s okay to step back if needed. Support is available—call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.
You will have 2 hours of pre-work to complete before this training. Lunch will be provided thanks to Decatur County Community Foundation! More details will be shared via email l as we get closer to the date. We ask that you register below in advance. We can not guarantee lunch and materials without registration.
