NNF 1st Annual Charity Flag Football Tournament

GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration is now open to flag football participants, vendors, and sponsors for the Ngozi Nwaneri Foundation (NNF) inaugural charity flag football tournament set for Saturday, November 30th, 2024 from 10AM to 2PM at Ngozi’s alma mater Springbrook High School, Silver Spring, Maryland at the football field. A fun-filled day of friendly games, activities, music, and sales with local vendors. All proceeds from the event will be applied to a book scholarship for graduating seniors in the Northeast consortium (Springbrook, Paintbranch, and James H. Blake high schools).

ABOUT NGOZI & NNF

On February 16, 2018, Ngozi Peter Nwaneri ("Ngozi") passed away at the age of 30. Ngozi was a loyal friend, brilliant scholar, passionate thinker, athlete, musician, comedian, family man, and visionary - truly ahead of his time. In Ngozi's honor, NNF was created to support black enterprise and African development through social outreach and economic empowerment.

Amongst Ngozi's many passions were community and the game of football. In his high school days, Ngozi was a star running back and linebacker on Springbrook Hgih School's varsity football team from 2003 - 2005. In Ngozi's memory, it's only fitting to bring the community back to Springbrook to raise money from such a great cause.

TOURNAMENT DETAILS

Tournament Format:

• 8 - 10 teams (up to 10 players per roster)
• 7 versus 7
• Single elmination tournament
• Each team is guaranteed at least two games
• Each game will be 30 minutes with running clock & a 10 minute halftime

Each player will receive:

• Team jerseys
• Flags
• Participation gift
• Food/Drinks
