‘Hey, Big Spender!’ – spend a little time with the Northern Musical Theatre Orchestra and Chorus, as they bring you a delicious programme of big band Musical Theatre classics! NMTO is proud to showcase the talents of local people, as well as the best of the West End and UK Touring Productions. Relax and enjoy the sounds of our 60-piece orchestra, alongside a talented chorus and guided by a team of professional guest performers.
With a first half consisting of some of the most toe-tapping numbers in Broadway’s history, including ‘Chicago’, ‘Sweet Charity’, ‘Funny Girl’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘42nd Street’, followed by another fully festive second half. Stuffed with Christmas songs from musicals such as ‘Holiday Inn’, ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Mame!’, but also featuring all the old-time Christmas hits from Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Judy Garland and Nat King Cole – just to name a few.
The finale will, of course, be the electric ‘A Christmas Festival’ which audiences have enjoyed every year since the orchestra’s inaugural concert. We’ll also present you with a rousing encore, which you don’t need to travel all the way to ‘New York, New York’ to enjoy!
