On 23 September, we host an inspiring meetup on semiconductors, telecom, and digital innovation, as part of Dutch Digitalisation Week (Week van Digitalisering). The Dutch high-tech sector at MWC Barcelona
At MWC Barcelona 2026, it was already clear that the Dutch semiconductor industry is playing a growing role in telecom and connectivity. Companies such as Axelera, Qualinx, Semiblocks, and Eyeo demonstrated how Dutch innovations are shaping the next generation of wireless networks, edge AI, and energy-efficient connectivity.
Preparing for MWC Barcelona 2027
Together, we are preparing the Dutch high-tech sector for the Netherlands Program at MWC Barcelona 2027. This event brings together stakeholders from across the ecosystem to share knowledge, explore international opportunities, and discover how your organisation can contribute to and benefit from MWC 2027.

Noviotech Campus
Noviotech Campus is built on more than 70 years of semiconductor history on one site. It was here in Nijmegen that Philips started semiconductor production in 1953. Today, that heritage has grown into a thriving high-tech ecosystem where companies work on semiconductors, RF technology, electronics, chip integration, equipment and smart manufacturing. Also with applications in smart health and diagnostics.
With major semiconductor companies alongside innovative SMEs, startups, scale-ups and knowledge partners, the campus brings different parts of the technology chain together in one place. There are over 85 companies on campus and a connected supplier network of over 300 companies in the region.
EPR – Smart Factory for high-tech electronics
EPR develops and manufactures high-tech electronics in Nijmegen, supporting customers from the first concept and engineering phase through to prototypes and series production.
What makes EPR particularly interesting in the context of digitalisation is its Smart Factory. Engineering and production are closely connected, supported by EPR's own digital platform, Infinity©. The platform brings information from different systems and processes together and gives employees real-time insight into planning, production orders and progress.
During the company visit, participants get a look behind the scenes at how advanced electronics are produced and how EPR uses digitalisation to connect people, information and production processes.
ITEC – the technology behind semiconductor manufacturing
ITEC develops advanced equipment and automation solutions for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing. From its headquarters in Nijmegen, the company develops machines for the assembly, testing and inspection of semiconductor parts.
Its technology combines advanced mechatronics, test electronics, vision and inspection technology, software and smart manufacturing. ITEC has more than 2,500 systems installed worldwide, together enabling the production of over 100 billion semiconductor parts every year.
With its ITECore factory automation platform connecting thousands of production tools, ITEC is also a strong example of what machine-to-machine communication means in practice: machines and production processes exchanging data to make semiconductor manufacturing faster, smarter and more efficient.
