Described as “superb” by the Chicago Classical Review, violinist Njioma Chinyere Grevious is emerging as a passionate and versatile solo, chamber and orchestral performer. She is a graduate of The Juilliard School and a winner of its John Erskine Prize for scholastic and artistic achievement.

A prolific competition winner, Njioma won both the Robert F. Smith First Prize and Audience Choice awards in the Senior Division of the Sphinx Competition, and joint prizes in the CAG/YCAT international auditions (both in 2023). Previous successes include concerto competitions at the University of Delaware and the Newark Symphony Orchestra, the Music Academy of the West’s Keston-Max Fellowship, and First Prizes for Performance and Interpretation in the 2018 Prix Ravel in Fontainebleau, France.

Nominated as a 2024 Classic FM ‘Rising Star’, the forthcoming season sees Njioma embark on her debut UK recital tour, including performances at Wigmore Hall in London, Wiltshire Music and the Barber Institute in Birmingham among others.

In concerto, Njioma has appeared with the Chicago Philharmonic, the Western Michigan Symphony and the Newark Symphony Orchestra and, as a frequent chamber music series player, Njioma has performed in festivals throughout the US and Europe.

As a founding member of the Abeo Quartet, she and her colleagues have won numerous prizes including First Prize and the Audience Favorite Prize at the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition 2022, and Third Prize of the 2023 Bad Tölz International String Quartet Competition. The quartet has appeared in performances in the Schneider Concert Series, Alice Tully Hall, The Kennedy Center, in Montreal, and Oslo, Norway, and in residence at the Glenstone Museum, where they premiered “Moonshot” by Alistair Coleman.

Joseph Havlat

Joseph Havlat is a pianist and composer fromHobart, Australiawho is based in London. He is a leading interpreter of new music and has performed in major concert venues around the world.Some of Havlat's collaborators include: John Adams, Gerald Barry, Cassandra Miller, Brett Dean, and Sir Harrison Birtwistle.Havlat studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London under Professor Joanna MacGregor. He won first prize at the Royal Overseas League Music Competition in 2019.
