7:30-8:30pm - Bachata (Open Level)

8:30-9:30pm - Bachata (Level 2)

Description of Monday Program

The 4 week Bachata programs have two levels for both new and experienced dancers. The curriculum is designed to develop participants for social dancing. As in all of our programs, we use a curated collection of shines (footwork patterns), drills, and partnerwork patterns to build up all of the foundational skills the participant needs to become proficient as social dancers.

The shines and patterns in this progressive program will begin by grounding the movements in the foundations of the dance. By the last week, the program will reach an advanced beginner level.

"Open Level" programs are open to both new dancers and to those who have developed enough capacity to social dance. We encourage participants to glean what they can from the lessons without taking on the pressure of learning and remembering the shines and patterns in their entirety.

"Level 2" programs are designed to challenge those who have developed a foundation in the basics & fundementals of bachata. Some knowledge is assumed of the participants. A greater emphasis is placed on musicality and more intricate patterns. Although there is no assessment to participate, the instructor reserves the right to limit participation if the participant has not acquired the necessary skill to up with the rest of the class.

9:30pm - Bachata Practice | Game Night

*Bachata Practice / Game Night is included in the program at no additional cost

After the Bachata classes, participants are invited to join the NJ Social Game Night downstairs. The DJ will play a mix of Bachata and open format music. Participants can practice with one another, and enjoy community over games.
