originated in the visual arts, but became active in sound shortly before the 1980s. From Berlin he moved to Barcelona and afterwards—apart from artist residencies—mainly to France; today he is based in Rennes. DSM has worked across many different media and has produced exhibitions, performances, concerts, and installations in Europe, New York, Montreal, São Paulo, Russia, and Ukraine. The project has also engaged in numerous collaborations, including with Slavek Kwi / Artificial Memory Trace, MSBR, The Oval Language, Tibetan Red, RLWehowsky, and many others.

THE OVAL LANGUAGE (Improvisation/Noise)
produces performances since 1987. The utilisation of Instruments, the form and the choice of location and its territorial determination depend upon the contents and the statement of every project. Main emphasis is given in the production of audio products that provide insight in the groups sound research and video productions that often uses the documentation recordings of performances and translate them into independent narrative structures. Projects in the area of performances depend extensively on corporal expression.

You believe that your limitation is a result of your own choices or abilities, rather than an imposed power structure. Labeled as incompatible with the system. Constantly monitored. Marginalized. Powerless.
