The annual Nitya Nritya Festival is a weekend of immersion into the rich diversity of the Indian classical arts. This year, the festival is scheduled for 6-7 Sept. We bring a Sitar concert by Indrajit Roy-Chowdhury and Nilanjan Chaudhary and an energetic percussion ensemble as part of the musical offerings.
Surabhi – A choreographic blossoming
This year, we present a curated smorgasbord of experimental and trailblazing work in dance, in thematic and movement vocabularies and offer a broad perspective encompassing such developments that are still rooted in traditional Indian dance genres by way of a talk by scholar-choreographer Maya Kulkarni. Amongst the works being presented is also the intriguing Silpanatanam, a movement aesthetic pioneered by Maya Kulkarni. Details at: www.nityanritya.com.
