New for 2025 is an exciting venture exploring the emerging Chill-out dance scene. Simon will focus on the SILC dance style, a smooth-slotted dance similar to West Coast Swing (WCS). This musicality-focused partner dance syllabus complements a slower tempo of music. There is generally space between yourself and your partner, and it takes the principles of Ceroc to the next level.
Meanwhile, Marc and Rachel will introduce you to an infusion of Tango. The principles of Argentine Tango are transferrable when dancing to a myriad of other partner dance styles, especially Blues and Silc. Once the universal principles of Fusion are in place, you can adapt to any music tempo with balance and control of the lead-and-follow connection.
Both Silc and Fusion dance styles concentrate on universal lead and follow principles with a vast music crossover to play with. At Nirvana, we play music suitable for smooth Ceroc, Silc, WCS, blues, and expressive dancers. We are heading toward the sweet spot where all dance styles meet, with acoustic, lyrical tracks high on the agenda.
Nirvana will offer a chilled-out freestyle experience, mainly on the first Saturday of the month. The music suits smooth Ceroc, SILC, WCS, blues, and expressive dancers.
Cressex School has a fantastic main hall and a dance studio on stage, allowing us to run two workshops simultaneously. Our Tuesday nights are becoming popular, and the vibe is especially chilled for a Ceroc night. Our Saturdays will allow us to take that vibe to the next level.
Simon has been teaching dance for over 20 years. He loves competing and sharing what he learns in a way that dancers of all levels can understand. Simon is the ideal teacher for Silc, with an eye for the technical and the artistic.
The pairing with Marc and Rachel is a perfect match. You will know them for their teaching, music, and countless events, especially on the weekender circuit. What's less known is their love of Argentine Tango, culminating in visits to Buenos Aires to learn and develop their Tango as a separate entity and within the context of the Ceroc world.
All payments are on the day, and booking ahead of time isn't necessary. We plan to introduce a workshop rolling discount for High Wycombe regulars. Watch this space.
We wish to be a welcome addition to the local and national dance scene, and the Saturday afternoon timeslot is as yet unexplored territory.
