Agenda
Cryptographic Sovereignty: The Trust Layer Beneath the Digital Backbone
Host: Paul Feenan, Arqit

Info: As Defence and Government organisations work towards a more connected and resilient digital future, the concept of a Digital Backbone is becoming increasingly important - enabling systems, forces and departments to securely share and use data at scale.

But the strength of any digital backbone depends on the trust layer beneath it.
Paul’s session will examine the critical role of encryption, confidential computing and identity in creating trusted digital infrastructure, and what this means for those responsible for building secure capabilities across Defence, Law Enforcement, National Security and Government.

Drawing on real-world challenges and examples from the Defence environment, Paul will share insights into how organisations can strengthen resilience and address the evolving demands of a digitally connected world.

Defence Tech and the Future of Britain's Security
Host: Jeremy Wimble, TechUK

Info: Jeremy will explore how the Ministry of Defence has evolved over the past two years, from the ambitions of the Defence Investment Plan to its changing approach to innovation and emerging technologies. He'll also examine how conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East are influencing defence thinking, highlighting both the lessons the UK should embrace and those it should approach with caution.

With extensive experience working across the UK's defence technology ecosystem, Jeremy helps align industry with the MOD, National Armaments Directorate, UK Defence Innovation and Frontline Commands through policy engagement, market insight and collaboration. Before joining techUK, Jeremy spent eight years at RUSI leading international security programmes supporting organisations including the FCDO and the US Department of Defense.

This promises to be an insightful session for anyone interested in the future of defence, innovation and national security.
