When professional overthinker Nina Bailey started singing, she did so in secret. She hid in her bedroom in the small town in Netherlands that she grew up in and would only sing when her family was out. However, her love of music grew too quickly to stay a secret for long. Nina started writing original songs, and eventually mustered up the courage to share them with the people around her. Nina dreamed of one day becoming a professional singer and songwriter. Though she was still too scared to say this out loud. She showed a natural talent for writing. However, in the beginning she tried to stay away from anything too personal and vulnerable. 

Fast forward to now: Nina’s music is absolutely no longer a secret. She studied songwriting at the conservatory in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and has a degree in music. She participated in several big projects like Drentsch Peil 2025 and Hit The North 2026 and recently played some big festivals such as Bevrijdingsfestival, Spy Festival, and Drentsonic. During her studies, Nina wrote an EP which will be released in November. Unlike before, for the first time, the songs are truly about her own life and emotions. While her mellow pop songs sound like a warm hug, tender, and inviting, her lyrics are anything but. She sings about her thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a painful honesty, always sharing the things that she is most scared to say. Nothing is off limits. One moment she’ll be fantasizing about driving ex’s car off the road, and the next she’ll be singing a sweet song to her younger self to tell her to take her time growing up.

In November, she'll be releasing her debut EP 'One Step Forward', representing this brave choice to finally share her music with the world.
