Night-Time in the Fourth Trimester: Planned Parenthood Benefit Concert
About this Event
Attend the world premiere performance of "Night-Time in the Fourth Trimester," a contemporary song cycle by Jodi Goble and Caitlin Vincent about the highs and lows of new motherhood that have gone unsung... until now. Over the course of one sleepless night (condensed into 25 minutes), a delirious new mother gives voice to the postpartum experience.
The concert benefits Planned Parenthood of Northern California and its 90,000 annual patients, whose access to reproductive healthcare is currently at risk.
The "fourth trimester": New mothers in the U.S. are critically underserved during the 3 months following childbirth, a period referred to as the "fourth trimester." One in 7 women reports suffering from postpartum depression, while as many as 3 in 4 experience milder symptoms, often called "the baby blues." This is the first-ever song cycle written to give voice to the struggles of the postpartum period.
VIP tickets include a moderated Q&A session with the artists before the concert, a complimentary beverage from Sidegate Brewery, as well as a hand massage and gift bag from Aveda.

The Cause
Planned Parenthood Northern California began offering high-quality health services in 1929, and our service area has grown steadily since then to include urban, suburban, and rural counties from San Francisco to the Oregon border. In the 1980s, we were the first Planned Parenthood affiliate in the nation to provide HIV testing and counseling. Today, we continue to lead with research, gender-affirming hormone therapy, infertility services, PrEP (HIV prevention), and telehealth services to patients of any income, gender, immigration, or insurance status.
