Second Tuesdays at Artichoke Music. Audience is open to all.
Topic #4 - Building an Intentional Music CareerWhat's motivating us to pursue music as a career? What about the music industry is working for us, and what isn't? In this new year, let's confront our perceptions of the music business and envision how to build careers from our own values.
WHAT IS NIGHT OWL?From booking and finding work to gigging and managing mental health, etc., women and gender expansive music professionals experience shared barriers to success and are still wildly underrepresented in the industry. We deserve a collaborative, peer-designated space where we can support each other as we navigate our careers. Let's challenge the systems that work against our success and reimagine more sustainable, equitable business models for us in music.
Musician/Music Advocacy Council member Renée Muzquiz will host a brief live guest interview with women and GE music advocates about topics affecting us in the industry. This will be followed by an open discussion where we'll brainstorm and share resources around that topic. Come early to grab a drink to support Artichoke, network and catch up with friends you don't get to see while we're all working.
This event is made possible in part from a grant from The Autzen Foundation
