Night of Hope: Stories of OCD

Join us for a powerful evening hosted by Here For You Clothing as we spotlight mental health through the lens of authentic storytelling. We’ll be screening “Symptoms of Melancholy,” a short film by recent college graduate Rose Luczaj, whose personal journey with OCD inspired this deeply moving and accurate portrayal. Along with other panelists who discuss their journeys with OCD. Come connect, reflect, and be reminded—you are never alone.

The film is rated PG-13 for explicit language and heavy themes of mental illness and grief.

Summary of Film: Following her father’s death, a college art student struggles with the symptoms of her OCD diagnosis reappearing in the form of a faceless man from the 1940s.

Rose Luczaj Bio:

• Rose Luczaj is a recent graduate of Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Arts Production. Born and raised in Fairfield, CT, she was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder at the age of eight, and began to navigate her mental health journey through artistic expression and filmmaking shortly thereafter. Her senior thesis film Symptoms of Melancholy aims to strengthen the accuracy of OCD representation in media, as well as catalyze conversation and create community surrounding mental health.
