How often do we really experience the dark without artificial lights? Starting before sunset and returning after dark, we get to be more aware of the transition between day and night. All sorts of animals from bats to raccoons to moths and owls are more active at night. Plants, insects, and other animals including humans need the dark to rest and replenish themselves. Join us for a night time walk, making seasonal observations, and enjoying the magic of the night. The full program is approximately 2 hours and covers a 2 mile paved loop with a steep incline. Participants have the option to return sooner as desired. Please register as space is limited.
Programs are led by Hannibal Parks and Recreation’s Nature Interpreter, Gale Rublee, and members of the Mississippi Hills Missouri Master Naturalist chapter.
