Un soir ordinaire au Zigs, le bar gai de Sudbury, un jeune queer assoiffé de liberté et de communauté vit un périple initiatique pas comme les autres. Sous les auspices de la Sainte Poésie, esprit protecteur du cratère, la faune haute en couleurs du bar lui présente leur monde magique en l’invitant dans des univers éclectiques, éclatés et absurdes. Nickel City Fifs rend hommage aux luttes du passé et du présent dans une atmosphère à la fois campy, fantastique, irrévérencieuse, vulgaire, caustique, revendicatrice et un tantinet dérangeante par bouts. Une lettre d’amour aux communautés queer et francophone de la région, cette épopée sudburoise donne la parole à une voix rarement entendue en Ontario français et encore moins ici, dans le Nord.

On an ordinary evening at Zigs, Sudbury's gay bar, a young queer thirsting for freedom and community embarks on a journey of initiation unlike any other. Under the auspices of Sainte Poésie, the crater's protective spirit, the bar's colorful fauna introduces him to their magical world, inviting him into eclectic, eccentric and absurd universes. Can they convince him to join in, or will they lose him to the siren song of the big city? Nickel City Fifs pays tribute to the struggles of the past and present in an atmosphere that's campy, fantastical, irreverent, vulgar, caustic, demanding and a tad disturbing in places. A love letter to the region's queer and francophone communities, this Sudbury epic gives voice to a voice rarely heard in French Ontario, let alone here in the North.
