Nick Stultz has passed, but we would like to do a memorial to him by doing what he did best: brewing beer. On Saturday, November 8th, starting at 9:00AM, we will be doing a Scottish Export at Wheathead. Nick always wanted me to do that style on the big system, so I'm honoring that wish. This will be a collaboration with Mike Springs, the former brewmaster at Fire and Irons Brewpub. Not only was he Nick's chief when Nick was a firefighter, but also mentored Nick on brewing on a commercial system. Everyone is invited to the brew itself, we would like to get as many people involved as possible. This will also be a tribute beer, by which I mean a certain portion of the proceeds will go to Beyond the Burn, a firefighter charity that supports burn victims. This isn't a megabrew, but if the club took a couple buckets worth it isn't going to be a problem. So come on out, have some beers, and tell funny stories about Nick!
