Nick Granville is a highly respected New Zealand session guitarist, composer, and educator whose work spans blues-rooted groove, rock/pop, modern jazz, and melodic sophistication. Over his career, he has performed with international artists including Mike Stern, Dave Weckl, Joey DeFrancesco, Kurt Elling, Ronan Keating, Chris de Burgh, and Delta Goodrem, as well as New Zealand legends such as Dave Dobbyn, Kiri Te Kanawa, Don McGlashan, and Julia Deans. He has also appeared as guitarist on New Zealand’s Dancing With The Stars.
Nick regularly performs with the NZSO, Orchestra Wellington, Auckland Philharmonia, and Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. He has released several acclaimed albums including Home, Refractions, Wishful Thinking, Round the Bend, and his latest release ReAMPED, recorded in Los Angeles with Benjamin J. Shepherd and Dylan Elise.
A first-call session musician, Nick has recorded at world-class studios including Capitol Studios and United Studios in LA, and performed internationally at major jazz festivals and venues across New Zealand, the UK, and the USA, including the Monterey Jazz Festival and London’s O2.
As an educator, he has taught at the New Zealand School of Music and led workshops throughout New Zealand and overseas. His theatre credits include We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia, Les Misérables, and Wicked. He also maintains a strong online presence with over 20,000 YouTube subscribers.
