Set in 1985 Norwich, Connecticut, Killers in Their Youth follows eleven-year-old Ken Gunther as he listens to the stories of veterans from past wars — men carrying memories of violence, trauma, and survival. Through Ken’s eyes, the novel becomes a powerful portrait of how war echoes across generations, offering a thoughtful, accessible look at history, healing, and the weight of memory.Nicholas Efstathiou is a husband, father, grandfather, and veteran of the U.S. Army. He lives in New Hampshire and works as a history teacher at a small academy in New England. He earned a Master’s degree in Military History from Norwich University. Nicholas is the author of Killers in Their Youth and several other novels and historical works, often exploring themes of war, memory, and the human cost of conflict.
