Nice Moves June Blender Panel
About this Event
This June 25th, we’re bringing together 3 Blender users in our community to share their individual workflows, highlight unique uses, and open a community discussion about exciting new ways to work with this free software. We’ll cover a broad range of uses: using Blender as an illustration tool, photogrammetry, character work, commercial workflows, and more, led by our three panelists: Sishir Bommakanti, Paul Carroll, and Micheal Swearingen! Moderated by events chair Natalia Poteryakhin.

Parking & Entry
There are several close by parking lots in the downtown area and metered street parking. A little further out, about a 10-15 min walk are the ABC Ramps, which can be a bit cheaper and are easy to get to. The building is also conveniently right off the Hennepin Goverment Plaza Light Rail Station, if you are taking public transit.
Once you are inside, look for the first floor conference rooms. We will hopefully be able to put signs up directing you to the Nice Moves meetup, but there will also be board members there to guide you. If you enter from the 6th street entrance, go to your left, and if you enter from the 5th street entrance, go to the far end and right.
About Nice Moves
Nice Moves is an organization that aims to elevate Minnesota to become a vital part of the larger Animation, Design, and Visual Effects Industry. Our work focuses on providing resources and assistance to local artists and studios. Our goals are to retain local talent, attract new talent, and show the world that great creative work grows in the Midwest.
A Bit More About Our Panelists
Sishir Bommakanti: is a 3D generalist, illustrator, designer, and painter. His work combines conceptual compositions, figurative narratives, abstract geometry, and glitched imagery. The works serve to communicate and inquire. Everything has a purpose and a function. When not working on art, he likes to travel into space and fight invaders from other dimensions.... in daydreams...
Paul Carroll: is an artist and maker. In addition to animation and illustration work, he builds things for the internet and the real world, from photogrammetry to furniture. He also enjoys video games.
Micheal Swearingen: is a motion designer with a focus on 2D motion graphics and 3D character animation. In the past, he’s created work for Target, Google, and Adult Swim. He makes pictures go vroom. He also does his own taxes and cannot die!
