A singer-songwriter triple bill:
Nic Danta is a Katoomba based singer-songwriter, who writes intimate stories of people and place influenced by Bob Dylan, Paul Kelly and Billy Bragg. Nic was a member of the Spooky Men's Choral in the early years, and in 2024 toured the Northern Territory as part of a backing band for two indigenous performers, Ray Dimakarri Dixon and Stuart Nugget. Nic performs regularly across the Blue Mountains and Sydney including Make Music Day, Winter Magic, at the Blue Mountains Folk Festival, and is a regular performer on the Men’s Mental Health Show on Blue FM.
Nic will be performing with Tommy P Novak (Sir Archer and Damien Leith) and will be playing songs from his most recent album, Buried at Sea and premiere songs from a forthcoming album, War Torn. Come and enjoy the cinematic soundscapes, the beautiful harmonies, and the tales - some tall, but all true.
Matt Hill
Ensconced in the fertile environs of the NSW Northern Rivers, Matt Hill writes rolling and evocative music drawing on a wide range of sonic adventures. Matt cut his teeth playing drums with an indie grunge band in New York in the 1990s. He moved to Lismore for a guitar performance degree and then on to Melbourne, where he joined ambient instrumental trio amphibian, performing at festivals and major venues across Australia and in the UK, supporting artists like David Bridie, Ed Kuepper and Scanner.
Matt is currently touring to showcase songs from his new album, Little Untold Stories, songs sparked from moments on a recent trip to London, Cornwall and Berlin. Matt’s strong melodic and harmonic sensibilities are at play with listeners hearing a serene atmosphere with echos of Bowie, Nick Drake and Husky.
