The Northern Home Counties Regional Schools Championships are back and entries are now open!
This development event provides an excellent opportunity for school judoka to gain competition experience against athletes of a similar standard, whilst working towards qualification for the British Schools Championships.

Academic Year Categories
🥋 Years 4 & 5
* No eligibility restrictions
* Minimum Grade: 1st Mon (Bottom Red Belt)
* Technical restrictions apply
🥋 Years 6 & 7
* No eligibility restrictions
* Minimum Grade: 4th Mon (Bottom Yellow Belt)
* Technical restrictions apply
🥋 Years 8 & 9
* Minimum Grade: 6th Mon (Top Yellow Belt)
* Eligibility restrictions apply (see below)
🥋 Years 10–13
* Minimum Grade: 9th Mon (Top Orange Belt) / Senior Orange Belt (4th Kyu)
* Armlocks and strangles permitted in accordance with British Judo rules.
* Eligibility restrictions apply (see below)
Eligibility Restrictions (Years 8–13)
The following competitors are not eligible to enter:
❌ Medal winners from the *2025 British Pre-Cadet, Cadet, Junior or Senior Championships *(unless they won fewer than two contests).
❌ Players with 100 or more points on the Cadet, Junior or Senior British Judo Ranking Lists.
Important Information
✅ Open to school pupils in **Academic Years 4–13**.
✅ A valid **BJA, Judo Scotland, NIJF, WJA, BJC or AJA licence** is required.
✅ **No valid licence = No contest.**
✅ Competitors must have taken part in **at least one Regional Schools Championship** during the qualification period to be eligible for the British Schools Championships (subject to British Judo regulations).
✅ Players may compete in a different weight category at the British Schools Championships than the one entered at the regional event.
