This class is for people who have taken the beginning class or already have a few woodcarving skills and want to learn some more.
About this Event

Build your decorative carving skills in this hands-on class with master woodcarver , also known as “The Norwegian Termite.” Learn carving techniques that you can take home and use to transform ordinary wooden bowls and plates into works of art.

In class, you will receive a wooden blank on which you will carve different decorative strokes. If you have taken Jock's beginnng class, you are encouraged to bring your carving blank or plate. You will learn more complex techniques and increase your carving knowledge . Jock will also discuss the properties of different types of wood and how best to approach carving them.

If you prefer, you can purchase a wooden plate, choose a pattern, and start to carve a plate. If you have taken this class previously, please bring your work-in-progress and continue with individualized help from Jock.

Materials Fee

There is a $5 materials fee, paid directly to the teacher. Everything you need will be supplied in class, including safety gloves.

You can purchase a plate for carving. Prices range from $5 to $15.
