From September we will be hosting our annual fab ‘corner to corner’ crochet club over 4 Tuesdays in Sept, Oct & Nov. The aim will be to create a fab Nordic style blanket ready for Christmas!
The course is £70 for 4 taught sessions but does not include yarn. The course does include 25 patterns to choose from, a step by step guide, video tutorials, a hook if needed and access to a super helpful Facebook support group with almost 100 people who have made the blanket before at Lark. Also hot drinks and sweet snacks during all the sessions.
The dates are not consecutive but they are all on TUESDAY’s and where possible we will host additional catch up session for just £5.
The first 3 dates are fortnightly on 23rd September, 7th October & 21st October, then there will be a longer break and we will meet up again on 18th November.
The blanket is made using the Corner 2 Corner (C2C) stitch which enables you to build up patterns and ultimately create squares that can be joined together to create the 9 square blanket, (although I recently made a 6 square which was lovely (and much faster!)) The individual squares also make gorgeous cushion covers so you don't have to feel that you have to make all 9 if you don't have time or luckily Christmas comes around every year ;-)
It is suitable for all crocheters, you would need be able to do at least one stitch confidently, so if you are a total beginner we would recommend you book our beginners crochet workshops at least a few weeks before the first session and practice lots before we start.. The great thing about the 9 individual squares is that it is easy to crochet on the go as each square is not too big, there are loads of patterns available so your blanket will be totally unique, we will start with easy patterns and build up to harder patterns.
Please note the cost does not include the wool/yarn, you will need around 20 balls for the full 9 square blanket! Most people opt for ‘Stylecraft Special Chunky’ we keep plenty in stock so you’ll be able to take home a few balls after session 1 and we will ensure additional balls are ready for your session 2. If you are shopping elsewhere we send a short video with some shopping tips or can advise further in session 1 and it would be great if you could bring your selection in for session 2.
