Next Gen Climate Convention
About this Event
Calling All Young People Across the District!
The Office of the People’s Counsel (OPC) invites DC high school and college-age students to join us for the Next Gen Climate Con: Building the Next Generation of Environmental Advocates — a day of learning, conversation, connection, and action.
Climate change is shaping our communities, our future, and a growing number of career opportunities. Next Gen Climate Con is designed to help young people better understand these issues, discover ways to make their voices heard, and explore how they can play a role in creating a more sustainable future for DC and beyond.
Throughout the day, attendees will participate in engaging sessions focused on:
- Climate Change 101 — Build your understanding of climate change, why it matters, and how it impacts our communities.
- Climate Advocacy & Social Engagement — Learn how young people can raise awareness, organize, advocate, and inspire action in their schools and communities.
- Jobs, Careers & Education — Explore educational pathways and career opportunities in climate, sustainability, environmental advocacy, and related fields.
- Water Conservation — Discover the importance of protecting our water resources and practical ways we can all contribute to conservation.
Whether you’re already passionate about environmental issues or just beginning to learn about them, Next Gen Climate Con is a chance to gain knowledge, meet others who care about the future of our communities, and discover how you can make an impact.
