Join us at Camperdown Park (Mallet St) near the restrooms for a fun-filled night of fire (or LEDs), friends, and fabulous music! Be respectful of the park and clean up after yourself.
Be welcoming to everyone.
NO GLASS!!! If you bring glass and break it CLEAN IT UP! Don't be a dickhead, children and pets use this park.
Please do NOT lend fuel out to beginners, instead have them check in with an event organiser. They may need some clarification on fuel types, dipping procedure, etc.
NO FIRE BREATHING ALLOWED!! (unless previously cleared with the event organiser).
If you are using Shellite please keep it stored out of sight to avoid accidents.
Fuelling Procedure:
-All fuel must be stored in a container with a lid. Please do not leave open containers of fuel on the ground. Pour the fuel back into your container, or use the recommend 2 bucket system.
The 2 bucket system will cost you less than $20 from Bunnings. You need:
1. Metal bucket
2. Small plastic tub with a locking lid
*Place the metal bucket inside the tub.
*Pour fuel into metal bucket.
*Fuel props and allow drips to fall back into the bucket or tub.
*Place lid on tub and lock the handles.
*Spin, Spin, Spin
*When finished for the night- you can pour all the access fuel from the tub into the pail.
*Then place your fuel container inside the tub to reduce spills.
*Use a funnel to pour the fuel from your metal pail back into your fuel container.
*Let the tub and the bucket air dry for a few minutes so access fuel can evaporate.
Metal dipping containers are preferred as metal doesn't melt should your container catch fire.
If you notice a safety concern please alert members of the fire spinning group. If you decide to intervene please be friendly in your approach. We were all beginners once!
This is a FREE community event. We do not sell tickets.
Did we mention - NO GLASS.
Be respectful of neighbours when arriving and departing from the event by keeping the noise down and the conversations friendly.
*In case of Total Fire Ban - we will switch to LEDs only.
*Photographers are welcome!
*DJs are also welcome.
*In case of rain - the event will be cancelled. We don't want to damage the sports field so even light rain may result in cancellation.
*Fuel can be purchased at Happy Herb Shop in Newtown - if you don't have fuel please bring a bit of cash to buy some off others the cost is $13 per litre. (bring your own container!)
*No charcoal BBQs.
* No amplified music after 11.30pm.
*NO GLASS
