Train ride 11AM Sunday, September 14, 2025
The Old Colony & Newport Railway is excited to announce our second public excursion train from Newport, RI! While the Old Colony has taken a hiatus for the past several years we are back on track in 2025. The train will depart the station located at 19 America's Cup Ave, Newport, RI at 11AM for a 90 minute round trip excursion. The train will travel to Bayside Station for a 15 minute layover before returning back to the Newport Station. Passengers will be able to stretch their legs, take in the view of the bay, and use the bathroom facilities if needed during the station stop. Passengers will ride in a Budd Rail Diesel car built in the 1950's with views of Narragansett Bay not regularly seen by rail in years!
Ticket prices are $15 kids and for $20 adults. We are accepting cash and checks at the station. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure or you may forfeit your seats. The train will depart on time and will not be waiting at the station for late parties. All proceeds go to preserving the Newport Secondary Rail Line and the historic equipment that operates on it.
Limited parking is available at the station at 19 America's Cup Ave., Newport, RI.
