Newport Listening Session: Local News, Information & Civic Health

A listening session is a facilitated community conversation that centers residents’ lived experiences. Unlike presentations or panels, these sessions provide space to listen, reflect, and learn collectively about the impact of local information on daily life and civic health in Lincoln County.

Over the past several weeks, Lincoln County residents have shared their perspectives through a countywide survey about how they access, trust, and use local news and information. During this session, we’ll share high-level, early insights from those responses along with a few emerging observations and recommendations from our research team.

More importantly, we hold a core belief that those most affected by information gaps and challenges often surface the most meaningful and grounded solutions. This session is an opportunity to reflect on what we’re hearing and to shape what comes next together.

You are registering for the Newport listening session. We are also hosting a similar session in Lincoln City on Sunday, but the programming for both sessions will be nearly identical. To help us hear from a wide range of voices across Lincoln County, we ask that you register for and attend only one session, choosing the location and date that is most convenient for you.
