Newcastle Dance Collective - Live Rhythms - Conscious Movement and Dance

Come join us for an evening of Live Rhythms at the Summerhill Bowling Club! 

We are group of highly experienced improvising musicians who create music in the moment for our dancers. We come from diverse musical backgrounds but have a shared love of playing for dancers who wish to explore, go deep, connect and celebrate. During the welcome circle Mark speaks about our place in the Celtic wheel of the year, taking inspiration from nature, the seasons and many cultures. He introduces themes such as stillness, space, self compassion, inner and outer journeys, transitions and change to aid the dancers to explore the music and themselves with curiosity and playfulness. We conclude our session with relaxation before a short closing circle.

We bring African drums, guitar, trumpet, piano keyboards, cello, Saxophone, handpans and gongs as well as our voices - which often are joined by the voices of our dancers.
