Newcastle Conference Against War

Following on from the hugely successful international London Peace Conference on Saturday 20 June which had the support of over a thousand MPs, trade union leaders, cultural figures, workplace activists and peace movement organisers from across Europe and beyond, join us in Newcastle to discuss how we can support and build on the key actions arising from the conference including the following:
- Saturday 10 October international demonstrations for Palestine;
- international day of action by dockworkers against war in October (date to be confirmed);
- Friday 20 November an international day of student strikes and protests against conscription across Europe;
- 21/22 November a global weekend of action against militarism and conscription.

A model resolution for union branches and groups to support the actions arising from the conference, including the days of action and the campaigns for welfare not warfare and against militarism and conscription can be downloaded here.
As the call for international conference said: “We must create our own international network which will organize for peace, oppose the revitalised US imperial project, and fight for the livelihood, indeed the very lives, of working people.“
