Welcome to New York Salsa! Fridays at 5pm - Starting Oct 18By 8 weeks you will learn the New York Salsa rhythm and learn how to connect with a partner. Like New York, the space is tight, the steps are small and you will be learning how to lead and follow close together. This means on the spot turns! Body movement will also be incorporated! Please note, drop ins have limited learning potential
A partner is not needed because we will be switching partners and if the music calls for it, perhaps learn a couple of "shines" along the way (this is when the partners break out of their connection and dance on their own).
Let's take advantage of the pilates studio we will be using and doing a few warm up exercises on the mat. For the dance portion, you can bring dance shoes provided they have suede on the bottom, but socks or indoor non-stick shoes are ok too. Outdoor shoes not allowed
