Info: Celso Da Costa is the Global Director of the Swiss Dental Academy and the Chief Marketing Officer (Dental & Medical) at EMS. He earned his Dental Hygienist diploma in 2010 from FMDUL, Lisbon, and started his career in Lisbon before moving to Switzerland in 2011 to work in private practice. In 2015, Celso joined Adent as a Dental Hygienist and later became the Prophylaxis Manager, overseeing 23 clinics. In 2020, he was appointed to the Adent Dental Board.
Celso holds a diploma in Management and Human Resources (2019) and transitioned to EMS-Dental as the GBT Clinical Development Manager in June 2020. He was promoted to Head of the Global Swiss Dental Academy in January 2021 and became Director of both the Academy and the Marketing Department in January 2022.
Celso has completed his MBA in Marketing and an MBA in Business Analysis. His work in prophylaxis and dental economics has been cited in the press, and he is recognized internationally as a keynote speaker.

Prevention and Treatment of Peri-Implantitis Using Guided Biofilm Management
Host: Dr. Andrea Ravida, Periodontist, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
Info: Dr. Andrea Ravidà is the Director of the Graduate Periodontics Programin the department of Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed the periodontal specialty training in Graduate Periodontics at the University of Michigan and the PhD at the University of Granada. He teaches topics related to periodontal/implant disease and implant therapy to graduate periodontal residents in the clinics and in the classroom. He also conducts clinical research focusing on peri-implantitis, periodontitis and short implants. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and conference abstracts/presentations related to periodontics and implant therapy. He is section editor of the International Journal of Oral Implantology and the Journal of Translational Medicine. He received several other awards from AAP & AO including the Schoor Research Award in 2020, the Educator Scholarship (2021) and William Laney Award (2020).

Info: Sarah is a seasoned dental professional with over 27 years in the field. Her focus and passion has always been treatment and prevention of periodontal disease. Several years into her hygiene career, burn out was setting in and she almost left the profession. In 2016, she attended a dynamic CE course and learned about progressive techniques and technologies to address periodontal disease and promote wellness. It reignited her passion for dental hygiene.
Once she embraced this comprehensive care model, she incorporated technological advancements into her practice, including salivary diagnostics, phase contrast microscopy, laser therapy, aqueous ozone and Guided Biofilm Therapy. By elevating her practice and continuing education, she has made the shift from cleaner of teeth to healthcare hygienist provider. She is now a passionate dentistry disruptor and Swiss Dental Academy Trainer, as well as a GBT Success Coach.
