Tacoma Light Trail 2026 is completely FREE and starts on December 31, 2025, at 5:30 PM with a Dragon Parade from the UWT Prairie Line to Tollefson Plaza, where the New Year’s Eve kickoff celebration begins. Performances begin at 6 PM, featuring Tacomarama, Asia Pacific Cultural Center, T.U.P.A.C and more!
The New Year’s Eve Celebration will feature Tacoma’s new Poet Laureate, Mari Griffin, electric tap dancing & recently crowned Miss Eastside WA, Nyah Hart and crowd moving beats from DJ Summersoft. Keep your eyes out for the glowing interactive Ghost Art Car from Ghost Frequencies, a roaming light sculpture guaranteed to dazzle and delight. It’s all a ride you don’t want to miss!
The plaza will be alive with FREE activities, including arts and crafts, lantern-making stations, Starvin Marvin Food Truck and our favorite FREE tea from Mad Hat Tea Company will be available...while supplies last! All Tacoma Light Trail events are free, family-friendly, and packed with fun for everyone!
