Join Us for Dance Now’s Dazzling New Year’s Eve Dance Party⏰When: Sunday, December 31
- 7:00 PM: Beginner Swing Dancing Class
- 8:00 PM: Country Swing & West Coast Swing Social Dance
-8:30PM: Comp Sign-Up Cut off and competitor prep meeting.
-9:00PM- 11:00PM Comps
-11PM Trivia & Games
-12PM Ball Drop & Toast
📍Where:Dance Now Studio
👗👔Dress Code:Cocktail attire encouraged but not required. Wear something comfortable, age-appropriate, and dance-friendly.

**Dance Now Members must sign up and pay for comps only
***Typically comps are $10-$15 per comp so this is a crazy fun deal also aimed at making it more fun for all.
💃🏼🕺🏻👯For Fun Comps
We are doing 3 comps for fun in a casual formal that encourages all to join in on the fun.
How? Prizes are awarded across all 3 comps not on a per comp basis.
We will be using a simplified made up points system by Gruve events for local comps only that has NO bearing to any other points systems.
Also we will be doing a high low Jack n Jill Stationary Country Swing comp to help us encourage our friends who haven’t competed before to try something new.
High/Low has NO bearing on skill level!
Low will simply be defined by someone dancing under 6 months and or hasn’t never competed in country swing dance yet.
High will be above 6 months of dancing and or has competed before.
The 3 Comps:
Switches: You will pick a partner either follow or lead that you can dance with and switch back and fourth lead/follow roles
Steals: We will either do steals in groups of 3 or a steals circle. TBD on level of sign ups.
High/ Low Jack n Jill: Traditional Jack and Jill but rotations will be assigned both to dance role and high or low designation so that those with experience can help support and encourage newer dancers in the community.
Points:
Will be assigned based on the number of people in the comp for leads and follows and simple total number for switches.
Example:
20 leads and 30 follows in a comp.
1st place: 20 points lead 30 points follow
2nd place: 19 points lead 29 points follow
3rd place: 18 points lead 28 points follow
20th place lead 1 point
30th place follow 1 point
Points will be added up across all comps for an overall winner to encourage everyone to compete in all categories including those they are not good at.
Also we will be awarding bonus points to the best dress duo in switches which will be equivalent to 1/4 the number of points of total people signed up. So get creative, have some fun, and encourage everyone to sign up.
