Thats right, time for the annual New Years Day ride. 11 am from the shop. 20 miles with a loop through the beach. This is the most attended ride I have, you should come. Feel no pressure to keep up, just ride. Parking is in the grassy lot behind the shop, we'll squeeze an many cars in there as we can. Some riders will ride to the ride, that helps too.

I'd love to tell you that we will ride as one big group but that isn't how this goes. Fitness levels vary widely along with skills. People do their own pace.
Be safe out there, eyes focused ahead, call out turns, cars coming from behind and so on, have questions, ask away now and I will fill you in on any details.
Keep single file or a tight double. Generally don't be blocking the road way, no one likes that. If that happens there won't be any yelling, instead we'll up the pace until that stops, painful but necessary. Smaller groups work great too, they stay more organized.
More skilled fit riders should stay at the front and ride at a easy pace. Dress warm so you are not tempted to speed up, ride your gravel bike!
Less fit riders who want to stay near the front, should work hard and push their limits a little bit if they choose but if that isn't your thing, ride near the back and ride a pace that works for you. This isn't a race.
Have what you need to fix a flat and ask for help immediately, stopping a large group is not practical.
FEEL FREE TO SHORTCUT THE LOOP to work with your current fitness and needs. No one is counting, I am just happy you come. This(adjust the loop) is what smart riders will do.
