MANCHESTER, NH – On Thursday, January 8th, 2026, Slam Free Or Die - Poetry Open Mic & Slam continues its popular open mic poetry series at Stark Brewing Company. This week there will be the open mic followed by the New Year New Poems Slam! Doors open at 7:00. The show starts at 8:00. There is a $3-$5 sliding scale cover (cash and Venmo) and this is an all-ages show. (*for more details on Slam Free or Die, scroll to the bottom of this description)About the slam:
Participants will sign up and compete with 3 new poems written since the start of 2026. There will be 2 rounds, with eliminations, and the top 2 poets will compete head-to-head in the 3rd round. We cannot wait to see what the poets will bring!
Accessibility Information:
The entrance to our show is at the back of the building with no stairs to enter the space. There is a ramp through the main bar for access to the ADA compliant bathrooms. For any other accessibility questions message our page or ask a staff member at the show.
About Slam Free Or Die - Poetry Open Mic & Slam:
Slam Free Or Die @ Stark Brewing Company is a series of open mic nights for poets and spoken-word artists every Thursday night in Manchester, NH. There is an open mic every night and poetry slams are also held several times a month. Doors open and sign-ups begin at 7pm with open mic beginning at 8pm. Featured poets and slams follow the open mic. Come and enjoy the delicious food and beverages at Stark Brewing Company! There is a $3-$5 cover charge. There is plenty of free parking at the rear of the building (facing the river) and you can feel free to use the entrance on that side.
