New Wave Chamber Music Concert

The New Wave Chamber Music Week: Youth & Faculty Concert is an afternoon of chamber music celebrating mentorship, growth, and shared expression through the string repertoire. Presented by Galatea Chamber Music, this program brings together emerging young musicians and their mentors to close out a week of immersive music-making.

Featuring works by Mendelssohn, Brahms, and more, the program moves from playful warmth to profound emotional depth. To close, our faculty perform Mendelssohn's String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80, his final major work: a journey of rising intensity and raw tenderness, filled with the complexities of life. Performed in an intimate setting, the concert encourages close listening and a meaningful connection between performers and audience.
