18th Annual New Ulm Area Career Expo
Wednesday, March 26th, 2025
New Ulm Civic Center, 1212 N Franklin St.
10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
This event partners with businesses and schools to provide 8th and 10th graders with career exploration experience. Around 500-600 students will engage with employees and activities highlighting various careers, while exhibitors answer questions about education, skills, wages, and opportunities. This expo is crucial for introducing students to potential careers before they enter the workforce or pursue further education. Exhibitors are required to have interactive hands-on elements. This could be a 3-D/sensory model, gear, tools, small heavy machinery, simulators, live demonstrations, games, etc.
*New this year! We are adding a Game Show & Storytelling activity for 10th graders! This will take place in the North Arena (exhibit hall will be in South Arena). We are requesting small prizes from businesses to use for the Game Show. Businesses who donate 25 prizes do not have to pay a registration fee; the prize items can be logoed (water bottles, stress balls, T-shirts, frisbees, keychains, decal stickers, etc.). Students will win prizes as they participate in the career-based games.
Here is the day’s schedule:
•8:30 a.m. Businesses arrive and set up their booth.
•10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. 8th grade groups come through the exhibits only.
•11:30 – 12:00 p.m. A quick lunch provided for exhibitors and event volunteers.
•12:30 – 2:30 p.m. 10th graders. Half of the students will start in the exhibit hall and half in the Game Show/Storytelling. They will switch after 1 hour.
The cost to participate in the New Ulm Career Expo is $25 for Chamber Members and $50 for non-members. The fee can be waived by sponsoring ($250, $500 or $1,000 - see sponsorship flyer), or by donating 25 prizes for the Game Show. Registration fee is also waived for Centers of Excellence. The standard space is 10'x10', with tables, chairs, and lunch included. For large machinery or vehicles (an overhead door is available to bring large equipment inside), contact the Chamber for approval by March 7th and return the completed form.
