Hey newcomers,

If you are new in town or eager to explore Chinatown with friendly company, come meet me at Portsmouth Square tonight. The plaza is buzzing at dusk, and we are diving straight into the neighborhood's best street food together while building an instant community.

We kick things off with quick, one-on-one mini chats right in the square. The Gist IRL app handles the rotations automatically, so you can show up solo, feel immediately welcomed, and meet everyone without any awkwardness. After an hour of easy conversations, you will team up with the folks you bonded with most, form a small crew, and head out into the vibrant streets for warm dim sum, skewered bites, and boba.

The Plan:

- 6:30PM: Check-In. Follow the link to set up your quick profile on your phone. - 6:40PM - 7:45PM: One-on-One Rounds. The app pairs you for focused chats. We'll find out who shares your go-to boba order, favorite street eats, and Friday night energy. - 7:45PM+: Form Groups & head out into the market together to grab street bites and boba. You'll reconnect with your favorite matches, form a small group of 4-6, and head right out into the market together to hunt down the best street bites and boba.

It is the easiest, warmest introduction to the city's food scene, and you can stay in touch with your crew directly in the app to plan your next San Francisco adventures.

Before the night ends, find and share: 🥟 Something steamed — dumplings, bao, dim sum 🍜 Something savory — noodles, spring rolls, skewers, etc. 🧋 Something to sip — boba, milk tea, fruit tea 🥧 Something sweet — egg tart, sesame ball, pastry, tanghulu 🎲 Wildcard — something nobody in your group has tried before!
