New to Machine Sewing

By the end of this two-hour class, students will be able to:
- Identify parts and fucntions of a sewing machine
- Wind, insert, and remove a bobbin
- Remove and replace bobbin case, hook, and race (if applicable)
- Thread a sewing machine
- Make a straight stitch, back stitch, zig zag stitch, and basting stitch
- Recognize and trouble-shoot unbalanced stitches
- Recognize and troubleshoot machine issues
- Sew straight lines, pivots, and curves
No sewing machine necessary to join this class - if you do not have a sewing machine you can borrow one of ours. Students who purchase a new sewing machine after class will receive a 10% discount.
If bringing your own sewing machine, it must be in good working order; if it needs a service, please be sure to book it in our service dept before this class. We will not have time to repair during this course.
