Do you miss dancing traditional Philippine cultural dances from back in college or when you were part of a dance troupe or performed at family parties and community events?Or, you don't have any experience and have been wanting to learn?
Come join us for our pilot workshop in Middlesex County, NJ where you will have the opportunity to learn the basic steps of some popular traditional Philippine cultural dances in a fun and safe setting.
The dance taught this session will be the Tinikling. This class will be taught by Krizia Ramos and Mari Mallari. No dance experience necessary.
There will be two options to choose from:
Day One will cover the basic steps and background of the dance, from beginning to end.
Day Two (for those interested) will refine the dance steps learned on Day One with the opportunity to perform at the Sunday, May 3 recital/graduation of our Spring 2026 Sayawan Na! Middlesex County Philippine Cultural Dance Program at The Studio Ligaya.

Cost:
One Day: $30 PLUS a $10 non-refundable registration fee = $40.
Two Days: $45 + $10 non-refundable registration fee = $55
(Fees help cover the cost of space rental, instructor salary, insurance, and other incidentals.)
Students should come dressed in comfortable clothing, and bring a bottle of water and snacks. In the studio, we will be dancing without shoes. So, please wear socks.
Payment can be made by cash, check (made payable to: The Filipino School of New York and New Jersey), Venmo (FilSchoolNYNJ) or Zelle ([email protected]). We, unfortunately, no longer use PayPal. (Note: When using Venmo and selecting "Paying for a good or service", please add an additional 3% to the total amount". If you do not select "Paying for a good or service", then no additional transaction fees need to be added.)
