New Moon Hike - Phoenix Mountain Preserve

Join us for a fantastic night of adventure with Just Roughin’ It! Lace up your hiking shoes and get ready to explore the scenic trails in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve under the New Moon. For those of you not into moons, that is when the moon is invisible to the naked eye - so totally dark. But, also means we may be able to see more stars.

Our hikes are about 3-4 miles in length with a hiking time of about 1.5 -2 hours. We try to keep all hikes at about moderate in difficulty with no more that 600 ft change in elevation.

We will let you know what hike we are doing the day of the hike when you meet us at the store. We like mystery and intrigue:)

Important Details:

For the Hike - please bring ample water - at least 1 liter, trail snacks, a headlamp or flashlight of 250 lumens or more (the flashlight on your phone IS NOT sufficient) and appropriate clothing for the weather. Plus, please wear broken in and proper footwear for rugged trails. You will be required to sign a waiver to participate before we start the hike.

7:00 pm - Meet at Just Roughin' It at 10880 N 32nd St in Phoenix. We will disclose the trailhead plus is a great place to find some people to carpool with. If you forgot something for the hike, you can purchase from the store before we head out.

7:15 pm - We all drive to the trailhead. It is best to carpool if possible as some trailheads are small (and we need to park where there is no gate).

9 pm - We should be finished with the hike. Give some high fives, say your goodbyes and don't forget to get a ride back to your vehicle.
