The sky's the limit - explore the cosmos with AstroTours.org!Welcome to AstroTours.org! We offer astronomy programs throughout the week. Our tours are designed to provide an immersive and educational experience that will take you on a journey through the cosmos. Here's what you can expect from our tours:
New moon gives us an amazing view of deep sky objects and fainter things in the sky.
Timing: Our tours start around sunset and last for 2 hours.
Activities: Good for all activity levels (no hiking required) The tour consists of several fun and informative activities. You'll get to look through our high-quality telescopes, which give a detailed view of the night sky. You'll also learn about the constellations and folklore associated with them, as well as receive training on how to find objects in the sky and take astronomical measurements with your own hands. Our expert astronomers will give a talk about the cosmos, covering topics such as the formation of stars and galaxies, the origins of the universe, and much more. We also have plenty of time for questions and answers, so you can learn even more about the mysteries of the universe.
Stargazing: Guests are given ample time during the tour to look through and use the telescopes during the 2hr program. If that's not enough feel free to stay and continue stargazing as our team takes down our equipment after your program. You'll also have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains at sunset (the sun is a star of course) and while stargazing, which is an experience that you'll never forget.
Safety: We take the safety of our guests seriously. We will provide all necessary equipment, including red lights, chairs, blankets, hand warmers, step stools, and can move telescopes to provide accessibility to all to ensure you're comfortable and safe throughout the tour.

Sample Itinerary
Tours start at sunset and last 2 hrs. Tours are offered most clear nights.
Guests are provided with a red flashlights, comfy camp seating, bug spray, snacks, and water.
The show will explore the night sky with several large telescopes and a laser pointer. We will see and learn about planets, constellations, navigation, satellites, nebula, clusters, galaxies, maybe some shooting stars, and our universe. Through telescopes we will get up close looks at these objects and take in their beauty with our own eyes. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to use a telescope and about the different types of telescopes.
~10min before the tour we can look at bright early evening objects and look at telescopes during twilight

Q&A time - you can ask questions at any time
tour ends but guests are welcome to stay around after to get even more telescope time.
The tour takes place at a easy to find trailhead just north of Boulder, Colorado (no hiking required) where phenomenal sunsets and wildlife are often seen.
