The salt marsh is a vibrant and crucial habitat that shapes the culture and lifestyle of the Lowcountry. Our Salt Marsh Discovery docents offer enriching experiences to small groups of visitors/community members and/or school groups. As a salt marsh docent, you’ll need strong public speaking and interpersonal skills, a deep passion for learning and sharing knowledge about the marsh’s ecological importance, and a willingness to engage directly with its small inhabitants, such as crabs, snails, and shrimp. If you’re excited about the prospect of getting a little muddy while educating others, we’d be thrilled to have you on our team!
