To our New Britain High School Class of 1976 classmates -
As the past 50 years have somehow slipped by since our graduation, so have the past several months since our 50th Class Reunion was announced. Time is passing quickly and before we know it. September will be here. Time and tide wait for no man and so, if you’re planning on attending the 50th class reunion, reservations must be made and payments must be sent as soon as possible so the planning committee can make all necessary arrangements. The cut-off date to make reservations and payments will be 26 August 2026. All the details of the Reunion Weekend events can be found in the posts below, as well as, how to make reservations and forward payment.
Would love to see as many folks attend as possible to kick-up our heels, do a little reminiscing, catch-up with old friends and perhaps, make some new friends. See you there!!
First event will be held on Friday, September 4th where we will gather for lunch and catch-up (see what we did there?) at everybody’s favorite, Capitol Lunch at 510 Main Street in New Britain. Bring back the memories of ordering a dog or two served up “dirty with everything on it,” a bag of chips and maybe, an Avery’s soda pop!
For folks interested in participating, following lunch, we will take a tour of New Britain High School, 110 Mill Street. We can revisit the halls, classrooms and the nooks and crannies of our beloved Alma Mater. We can stop by “Cane’s Corner” where we have an opportunity to exercise some retail therapy and provide our support to the current student body. Topping the visit, if possible, we can all gather outside the school for an up-dated class photo.
Later on Friday, there will be a social gathering at “Trinity-On- Main”, 69 Main St., New Britain for a “meet and greet happy hour” and a chance to visit with classmates and friends. That event will be held from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m and will include a cash bar with a variety of snacks available.
Saturday, September 5th will be our main event, New Britain High School Class of 1976 Reunion. This event will take place right on the ocean front from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at the Westbrook Elks Club, 142 Seaside Ave., Westbrook, CT.
Here we will, again, have a chance to visit with our friends and classmates, perhaps, mingle and meet new friends. Available will be a large selection of appetizers to choose from and a cash bar for those who might like a cocktail or two. For those who like to kick up theirs on the dance floor, music and entertainment will be provided by Class of 76’s very own David Putterman.
The cost for both days will be $70.00 per person. Or $25.00 per person for those only interested in Friday’s event at “Trinity on the Main.”
