For the last year, we have been working with Senegalese musician and composer Alune Wade on a project to connect West Africa and New Orleans through history, music, and contemporary cultural practices. On Friday, October 17, please join us at Alliance Française for a public talk and concert featuring Alune (vocals and bass) and Alix Goffic (drummer and ethnomusicologist from French Guyana), with New Orleans musicians Corey Henry (trombone), Kirk Joseph (sousaphone), and Kyle Roussel (piano).
