A new JLI adult education course, led by Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz, entitled “Captivating Cases in Rabbinic Responsa,” starts on Wednesday, January 21. This six-week course will let you listen in on the surprising, practical questions your ancestors asked rabbis throughout Jewish history. Listen in on the questions your ancestors asked across history as they paid taxes, got married, fled war, and celebrated Passover in secret. What do their questions reveal about how they lived? What do these sages' answers reveal about the process of applying Jewish law?
Join this six-session course to explore the fascinating world of rabbinic responsa. You'll see the tools Jewish tradition offers for living by timeless values in a world that never stands still and come face-to-face with raw Jewish history. This course will satisfy the continuing education (CLE) requirements of attorneys and other legal professionals.
This 6-week course, which runs weekly on Wednesdays starting January 21 is offered twice every Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Select the time slot that best suits your schedule. The cost for the course is $79 per person or $145 per couple.
