A bit scared of dance?? This isn’t your ordinary dance class. For absolute beginners or natural mover and shakers, I take you through some easy, fun tools to help you collaborate and create your own dance! Super supportive and fun way to push your comfort zone.
The final workshop is also a performance night, where your group get to show off your moves to friends and family.
Off-Kilter Moves workshops are designed to offer an immersive, connective, experience in learning dance and choreography. This 5 week workshop runs every Thursday from 7pm - 8:30pm and takes place in the inner Northside Melbourne. Over the course of the workshop, you'll engage in a variety of exercises aimed at expanding your movement vocabulary, understanding choreographic concepts, and collaborating with others to create and perform original dance pieces.
What to Expect:
* A supportive and inclusive environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
* An introduction to choreographic concepts and dance theory, presented in an accessible and engaging way.
* Opportunities for individual expression, partner work, and group collaboration, all aimed at developing a final performance piece.
* A chance to perform your choreographed work to an audience of friends and family at the end of the course.

What to Bring:
* Loose, comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement.
* A water bottle to stay hydrated.
* A towel, a notebook and pen, and your phone (to record your movement).
* Socks
What You’ll Be Learning:
* Fundamental dance and choreographic concepts.
* Techniques for creating and naming your own movements.
* The importance of intention in dance and how movement can communicate complex ideas.
* Strategies for improvisation, partner work, and group patterning.
* How to collaborate effectively with others to create a cohesive dance piece.
Continuing Your Journey:
After completing the initial course, you'll have the option to continue your journey through additional workshops. You can deepen your skills with the same group, fostering even stronger connections, or meet new people and expand your creative network. Our aim is to empower you as a choreographer, helping you celebrate your personal movement and build the confidence to keep creating.
Missed Lessons:
While regular attendance is encouraged to get the most out of the workshop, we understand that life can be unpredictable. If you miss a lesson, you'll have opportunities to catch up in subsequent sessions. Our focus is on creating a community where everyone can grow together, so you won't be left behind.
