The Garden is going global! Join us for an incredible weekend featuring some of the best classic films from around the world. Running Friday, Oct. 10th - Sunday, Oct. 12th, we will be featuring films from 9 different countries. This inaugural weekend of international films includes beloved foreign classics like PLAYTIME, BICYCLE THIEVES, and METROPOLIS to rarely screened gems like Argentinian noir, NEVER OPEN THAT DOOR, or the West African satire, XALA.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: This Argentinian film noir adapted from a pair of Cornell Woolrich stories is a rare and underseen gem. In two tales of good and evil, the first story follows a man seeking revenge for the death of his sister, while the other details the reunion between a blind mother and her criminal son. Featuring spine-tingling suspense and gorgeous cinematography, NEVER OPEN THAT DOOR is a Spanish-language production that perfectly captures the noir tropes of the time. Presented in a new restoration by the UCLA Film and Television Archive with funding from the Film Noir Foundation. In Spanish w/ subtitles.
